Is Chris Pyne right to be worried about competing with Asian curriculums?

Just posted this in the News section - Chris Pyne is keen to overhaul the Australian curriculum with "our Asian competitors" in mind.

I'm not so sure that curriculum is the most important driver when it comes to the job market, even on an international scale. Plenty of careers require more than a history of top marks.

But as educators, the curriculum is one of the main ways to help young people develop career competencies ... Is Pyne on the right track?

More specifically, do you even agree that Australians ought to be worried about competition from Asia in the future job market?
